Welcome on the website of ROMA, association of antic studies from Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium)

The purpose of this association is the knowledge, promotion an transmission of the antiquity. Our wish is to share our passion for antic civilisations, and more particularly the roman empire. We would like to work in a pluridisciplinary way and to grant importance to compared civilisations study. It’s through archaeology, history of art, history or languages that everybody can become initiated to antic cultures. So, lessons, courses, guided tour and a review, that is published two time a year, Volumen, will be proposed. On this website, a great database with links about museums, archaeological fields, research institutes around the world, etc. is available.

The ROMA association support particularly the archaeological field of Torraccia di Chiusi (San Gimignano, Sienne, Italy). This field is excavated by a international team (Belgium, Italy, Germany) under leadership of University of Louvain (UCL) since 2005 and the director is prof. Marco Cavalieri.
